This set of reins have three separate, or loose, 8-plait braids. Each tiny 8-plait stand has a round leather core while the romal, with a 24-plait body, has a braided rawhide core. Wald used natural rawhide throughout with contrasting dark brown knots and interweaves. Sterling silver rings were added for chain loops.
