WilsonCaprongrewupinfarWestTexaswherehisfamilywasinvolvedintheranchingindustry.DuringWilsonx19shighschoolyearsinFortDavistheCapronfamilyranched150000acreswithabout1000mothercows.AfterhighschoolCapronattendedcollegeatTarletonStateUniversityfortwoyearsbeforemovingtoLoneOakTexaswherehelivedwithbitandspurmakerGregDarnallandhisfamilyforfiveyears.Capronwouldeventu-allygraduatefromTexasAMUniversity-CommercewithadegreeinAg-Business.WhilelivingwithDarnallCapronapprenticedunderhimtolearntheartofengravingandthefunctionofthebridlebit.Capronx19suniquedesignsstemfromtheinfluenceofDarnallcoupledwiththeknowledgehandeddowntohimbyhisartistcowboyfatherMikeCapron.In2004CapronwaselectedintotheTraditionalCowboyArtsAssociationandhehasbeenawardedBestofShowMetalWorkin20012005and2009atTrappingsofTexas.HebecameaGuestCuratorofGearforTrappingsofTexasin2008.Cap-ronlivesinMidlandTexaswithhiswifeKatyandtheirtwodaughters.WilsonCapronGUESTCURATORSLelandHensleywasbornandraisedinTexasandcametofarWestTexastoenrollintheRangeManagementprogramatSulRossStateUniver-sity.WhileattendingSulRossheworkedatBigBendSaddlery.Aftergraduatingin1985withabachelordegreeinRangeManagementheworkedasaranchmanagerandinhissparetimebegantohonehisbraidingskills.AfterleavingtheranchHensleyworkedatBigBendSaddleryfrom1994through2007ashecontinuedtopushhimselftoimprovehisbraidingskills.EachstepofthewayHensleyremainedtruetohisgoalofproducingaqualityandfunctionalpieceofgear.DuetothisguidingpersonalphilosophyhewaselectedintotheTraditionalCowboyArtsAssociationin2001.In2003hewasacknowledgedasx1cBraideroftheYearx1dbytheAcademyofWesternArtists.HensleyhashadhisworkexhibitedatSunValleyIdahoWesternFolklifeCenterNevadaHighNoonWesternAmericanaAuctionMesaArizonaNationalCowboyandWesternHeritageMuseumOklahomaCityOklahomaandTheTrap-pingsofTexasAlpineTexasforthelast17years.HehasservedasGuestCuratorofGearforTrappingsofTexassince2002.LelandHensley
