Cultural Events Center

The Cultural Events Center in the new Emmett & Miriam McCoy Building at the Museum of the Big Bend is available to rent for private and public events.

The Event Center features a lovely interior space and is attached to the exterior patio area, both of which have the majestic Davis Mountains as its backdrop—a vista like no other in the area! This modern, light filled space can accommodate up to 300 people. If you would prefer an indoor seated event, up to 80 people can be seated. The interior event center has excellent acoustics and a set up for presentations with a built-in projector and a variety of arrangements for your speakers.

Want to add more to your meeting or event? The Museum offers a variety of tour packages for your attendees. Led by a Museum curator or docent, your group can experience a tour of both buildings, tour and luncheon or a tour and happy hour! Plan on an hour for the guided tour and three hours for the tour and luncheon or happy hour.

Event pricing is customized based on:

  • Length of event
  • Number of participants
  • Catering specifications
  • Time of event
  • Staffing needs

Catering is priced separately for meetings and events. Onsite catering can be arranged through the museum or contracted through outside vendors with museum approval.

Smaller events can be booked in the research library and education room located in the museum’s historic Texas Centennial Building. Large events with breakout meetings can be arranged by an all-inclusive rental of all three spaces.

Contact our Museum Events Coordinator, Rebekah Antrosio, at 432-837-8143 or rebekah.antrosio@sulross.edu to book your event.
