Fred Darge Paints the Big Bend and Beyond
April 22–June 4, 2022

German-born Dallas artist, Fred Darge (1900-1978) traveled and painted extensively throughout West Texas and New Mexico. The exhibit is curated by Robert E. McKee III of Saint Jo, Texas and features over forty paintings, from private and museum collections, that beautifully capture the time spent by Darge in the Big Bend during the 1930s. This exhibit is underwritten by Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Alton and Mr. & Mrs. Marshall Meece.

At the Museum of the Big Bend on the Sul Ross State University campus. Entrance fee is $5.00/person. Free to children 12 and under, SRSU students, faculty, and staff with current ID cards. Free to Members of the Museum of the Big Bend. Click here to learn about becoming a member.
