8:00am: Meet at Museum’s Patio to engage in an outdoor workshop with Alpine’s historian and nature photographer, Matt Walter. Learn the details of taking photographs in nature and challenge yourself to capturing images of Big Bend’s regional birds.
10:30-11:30am: Becky Duval Reese, curator of Finding the Light: Photography by Jim Bones, will discuss the exhibition and her experience working with Jim Bones. Special Guest: Ann Matlock
11:30am-12:30pm: Matt Walter, Big Bend historian, will talk about his journey photographing the region’s birds.
12:30-1:30pm: Sky Island Culinary will be hosting a pop-up event. Carolyn Miller, Fort Davis Photographer, will be offering free photographic portraits to guests on our patio. Make sure to grab some lunch and get your photo taken with Alpine’s best view as your backdrop!
1:30-2:30pm: Elysia Perkins, emerging photographer from Austin, will discuss her portfolio and capturing expression, movement, and storytelling through the art of photography.
2:30-3:30pm: Bobby Greeson, professional photographer and photography professor at Sul Ross State University, will talk about Travel Photography.
